Agents of Oblivion

The Brokers’ two songwriters, singer/guitarist Dax Riggs and business lead guitarist Mike Sanchez, were both users from the cult favorite Southern metallic band Acid Shower until they break up following the loss of life of the bassist, Audie Pitre. Rounding out the Brokers’ lineup had been drummer Jeff McCarty, bassist Alex Bergeron, and pianist/keyboardist Chuck Pitre (no regards to Audie). The group’s lone recording, a self-titled Compact disc on Rotten Information, arrived in early 2000. Vaguely resembling a heavier edition of early ’70s David Bowie or T. Rex, the recording received spread acclaim, but much like Acid Bath, Brokers of Oblivion drawn relatively little see beyond the South. They split up shortly thereafter.
