Agent Ribbons

Reconciling far-flung affects through the slinky vocals of Eartha Kitt towards the whimsical post-punk of Dolly Blend, Agent Ribbons makes it is tag with “Victorian punk,” a minimalist undertake garage pop using a nostalgic wink. Guitarist/vocalist Natalie Gordon co-founded the group in Sacramento, California in 2006 with drummer/vocalist Lauren Hess. Using ’60s-inspired electric guitar with cave-stomping drums, Gordon’s bewitching vocals consider middle stage, delicately split with Hess’ harmonies. Full-length debut PROMPTLY Travel and Love, self-released in 2006, showcased the music group’s exclusive knack for playfully providing tongue-planted-sharply-in-cheek lyrics. The next season found the music group starting for campy alt-rockers Wedding cake, attracting attention because of its organic, theatrical live shows and paving just how for 7”s Agent Ribbons as well as the Star-Crossed Doppelganger as well as your Love May be the Smallest Doll in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Violinist/cellist/vocalist Naomi Cherie curved out the lineup in ’09 2009, adding elegant flourishes towards the musical mélange until her departure in fall 2010. That season found the music group touring with Scottish twee pop purveyors Camcorder Obscura, relocating to Austin, Tx and launching follow-up LP Chateau Crone. Documented with Manny Nieto (the Breeders, Wellness), Chateau Crone thematically got the perspective of various kinds of women because they navigated intimate journeys, with starting monitor “I’m Alright” getting featured within an episode of strike fantasy Television series The Vampire Diaries in early 2011.
