Originally a drummer, Dominican merengue tipico artist Agapito Pascual started his own folk band in the later ’80s. His rootsy revise of merengue’s traditional noises made him successful in and beyond the Dominican Republic. Pascual’s albums consist of Un Mamon and Frente A Frente, which also features the task of his modern, Ciego De Nagua.
