Afro-Cuban All Stars

Aimed by ex-Sierra Maestra drummer Juan De Marcos Gonzalez, the Afro-Cuban All Stars have already been necessary to the developing worldwide popularity of Afro-Cuban music. Their 1997 recording, A Toda Cuba Le Gusta, was the first ever to be recorded through the now-legendary Buena Vista Sociable Club classes. A multi-generational big music group, with members varying in age group from 13 to 81, the Afro-Cuban All Celebrities incorporate the entire spectral range of Latin dance music, including mambo, cha cha, salsa, rumba, boy montuno, timba, guajira, danzón, abakuá, and bolero. Throughout a past due-’90s interview, Gonzalez described, “We must use all of the history of Cuban music to make a sound into the future.” Gonzalez, who keeps a doctorate in hydraulic executive and Russian and spent some time working like a consulate in the Agronomic Technology Institute in Havana, shaped the Afro-Cuban All Celebrities soon after the disbanding of Sierra Maestra, the group with whom he previously attracted global interest since 1978. Music artists within the Afro-Cuban All Celebrities, including pianist Ruben Gonzalez and trumpet participant Yanko Pisaco, represent the cream of Cuba’s instrumentalists. Business lead vocalists possess included Pio Leyva, Raúl Planas, and Manuel “Puntillita” Licea. In past due 2000, Los Vehicle Vehicle vocalist Pedro Calvo decided to sing using the group. Shortly later on, the music group added Caridad Hierrezuelo (created Santiago de Cuba, 1924.)
