African Head Charge

Led by percussionist Bonjo I, African Mind Charge created in the first ’80s and it has released seven albums having a moving lineup that also contains Prisoner, Crocodile, Junior Moses and Sunny Akpan. The music group works within the same dub psychedelia place as Adrian Sherwood’s function, which isn’t amazing since the majority of African Mind Charge’s albums have already been released through — and made by — Sherwood and his On-U Sound label. After debut record A Gap in the bottom premiered in 1981, African Mind Charge released Environmental Research, Drastic Period and From the Beaten Monitor (these initial four albums have already been released as two-fers on two amounts of On-U Sound’s Great Classic series). African Head Charge shortly became On-U Sound’s most widely used act, and even though they had not really performed a live time during the initial four albums, the group strike the street and begun to do concert events. Following a break of many years, they came back in 1991 with Tracks of Praise and released In search of Shashamane Property in 1994 and Akwaaba a season later.
