Africa Djolé

African ensemble established in 1977 by Guinean percussionist Yacouba Camara, who was simply then surviving in Holland. Camara, an excellent, charismatic drummer, experienced left Guinea within the ’60s, and journeyed through Western Africa and European countries before settling in Paris. Africa Djole produced just two albums, superb releases that a lot more than fortified Camara’s status. But he came back to Guinea following the second launch, and in 1981 created the superstar music group Fatala that effectively framed the sound of balafon, kora and traditional African drums against a backdrop of twin electrical guitars. Camara through both Djole and Fatala argued contrary to the incursion of Western and Western components into African music, however didn’t enable his audio to stagnate along the way.
