Adam Falckenhagen

Lutenist, harpsichord participant and composer who served in the courts of Duke Christian as well as the Duke of Sachsen-Weimer, Ernst August. He researched the harpsichord but considered the lute particularly, under the path of Jacob Graf and later on with Weiss in Dresden. Falckenhagen’s lute compositions are among the final of their kind. He’s regarded as the final great lute composer especially in the Baroque custom with leanings for the galant. Compositional styles of Falckenhagen included sonatas, concertos, and partitas.
