Known most because of their Sonny & Cher-like 1966 one “THEY ARE ABLE TO Look at All of us and Laugh,” Adam & Eve were a Germany-based pop singing duo that, initially, contains American expatriate Johnnie Religious Dee and Czechoslovakia-born Eva Bartova. Ahead of forming, Dee had written several songs documented by the Quite Issues, including “Don’t Bring Me Down.” In 1969, he departed for London, Britain, where he was busted for owning a prostitution band with vocalist Janie Jones. Bartova continuing with another Adam, hubby Hartmut Schairer, and Adam & Eve got a modest work being a schlager work through the first ’80s. Bartova, a sufferer of cancer, passed on in 1989. Dee, who was simply imprisoned for stabbing a partner in Germany and escaped, passed on in 2004.
