Action Now

Before she began the Pandoras, Paula Pierce was within an initially modish band called the Direct Hits (Paula Pierce, Scott Hillman, Jim Schuster, and Mike Lawrence). Sadly for Pierce and business, they discovered there is an English music group using the same moniker, therefore the obligatory name modification was manufactured in 1982 to Actions Now. Authorized to Posh Son, Actions Now documented a full-length recording (ALL OF YOUR Dreams, a Lolita Information release which was just issued in European countries) along with other paths including “Try” for Rodney Bingenheimer’s Rodney for the ROQ, Vol. 3. The music group attemptedto consolidate the status it was producing for itself (during its Immediate Hits times) for the Los Angeles fresh wave picture, but internal difficulties (Pierce’s expect garage purity as well as the additional members’ hopes how the music group would modernize and/or emulate the varieties of U.K. works like Stiff Small Fingers) in conjunction with Pierce’s realization that (after acquiring the lead on many tracks with many displays) she was enthusiastic and skilled plenty of to lead her personal group eventually resulted in Pierce’s departure and her eventual development from the Pandoras with Gwynne Kahn. Pierce would tragically expire in August of 1991, while Schuster, Lawrence, and Hillman would ultimately regroup in 2003 in the International Pop Overthrow Event (with Kristi Callan acquiring Pierce’s put on vocals and acoustic guitar) and would start to see the re-release of gathered studio room recordings and live paths dating from 1981-1984: Averbury Information’ compilation from the music group entitled ALL OF YOUR Dreams…and much more.
