Acrimony

Created in Wales in 1991, Acrimony had been among the U.K.’s absolute best stoner rock and roll bands, pursuing in the desert paths concurrently carved by American pioneers Kyuss using their powerful mixture of Dark Sabbath’s rock riffery, Hawkwind’s space rock and roll excursions, and Blue Cheer’s fuzzed-out opinions psychedelics. Made up of vocalist Dorian Walters, guitarists Stuart O’Hara and Lee Davies, bassist Paul “Mead” Bidmead, and drummer Darren Ivey, Acrimony circulated several demos before putting your signature on with self-employed Godhead Information for the discharge of their 1994 debut recording, Hymns towards the Rock, and their next-year follow-up EP, The Acidity Elephant. However they actually took it to another level if they consequently became a member of leading doom label Peaceville and proceeded to record their recognized stoner rock and roll masterpiece, 1996’s Tumuli Shroomaroom. But though it wowed listeners and critics as well (even earning an ideal five “Ks” from United kingdom steel bible Kerrang! newspaper), the album’s product sales were sluggish, as well as the associates of Acrimony shortly lost heart, becoming more and more dismayed with what they regarded as too little promotional support off their label, and made a decision to disband by the finish of 1997.
