A-Wa

Hailing from the tiny farming community of Shaharut in Southern Israel, A-Wa (pronounced ay-wah) includes a trio of sisters whose melding of ancient Yemenite tracks with hip-hop, reggae, and electronic dance music provides resulted in a complicated and utterly unique appear. Singing and dance from a age group, Tair, Liron, and Tagel Haim started collaborating as adults, delving deep to their traditions where they uncovered a treasure trove of almost dropped chants and folk tracks in the Yemenite Arabic dialect.
