A-Wa

Hailing from the tiny farming community of Shaharut in Southern Israel, A-Wa (pronounced ay-wah) includes a trio of sisters whose melding of ancient Yemenite tracks with hip-hop, reggae, and electronic dance music provides resulted in a complicated and utterly unique appear. Singing and dance from a age group, Tair, Liron, and Tagel Haim started collaborating as adults, delving deep to their traditions where they uncovered a treasure trove of almost dropped chants and folk tracks in the Yemenite Arabic dialect. Through experimentation, they fused their like of jazz, rock and roll, reggae, R&B, and hip-hop with these traditional tracks and melodies, executing at local celebrations and liberating homemade video clips. After nearing Balkan Defeat Box’s Tomer Yosef to create their attempts, they processed their global audio, landing lots one Israeli strike with the solitary “Habib Galbi” using their debut recording from the same name.
