A Tribe Called Red

Canada’s A Tribe Called Crimson are an acclaimed electronic DJ collective known because of their genre-bending mixture of hip-hop, reggae, dubstep and Initial Countries musical traditions. Produced in 2007, A Tribe Known as Crimson showcases the abilities of DJs Ian “DJ NDN” Campeau from the Nipissing First Country, Bear Witness from the Cayuga First Country, and Tim “2oolman” Hill, Mohawk, from the Six Countries from the Grand River (who changed Dan “DJ Shub” General, Mohawk, from the Six Countries from the Grand River in 2014). After documenting many EPs, the group officially debuted in 2012 using their full-length self-titled record, which discovered the trio longlisted for the Polaris Music Award. Their sophomore work, 2013’s Country II Country, also managed to get onto the Polaris shortlist, completing in the ultimate ten. That same calendar year, A Tribe Known as Red took house Greatest Group and Greatest Album in the Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards. The next yr, they garnered a lot more interest after taking house the Juno Award for Breakthrough Recording of the entire year. In 2016, A Tribe Known as Red returned using their third full-length recording, We Will be the Halluci Country, featuring guest looks from rapper Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), indigenous Canadian drum group Dark Carry, Australia’s OKA, while others.
