Frank Szabo

b. 16 Sept 1952, Budapest, Hungary. Szabo grew up in LA where he researched trumpet. His 1st essential engagement was using the Harry Wayne music group in the first 70s and he also performed in a music group associated Ray Charles on tour. Then spent period with Louie Bellson, Count number Basie, Chuck Mangione as well as the Capp-Pierce Juggernaut. Within the 80s he continuing to try out with big rings, particularly those located in the LA area and including Capp-Pierce, Pat Longo, Basie and Woody Herman. A fluent musician with extraordinary technical resources, he’s a first-call trumpeter numerous leaders requiring solid players for membership, concert and documenting dates. On record sleeves his name may also be spelled ‘Zsabo’.
