57 are natives of Johannesburg, South Africa. Developing in 1997, the music group comprised brothers Andrew (vocals, bass) and Ross Lester (drums) and guitarist Richard Wilson. Playing electric guitar rock with components of funk, the music group released their debut EP Projection Guy in 1999, using the name track getting significant regional airplay. In early 2000, another guitarist Jonathan Crossley was put into the line-up.
