Havana 3 A.M.

Acquiring their name from an obscure Pérez Prado album, Havana 3 A.M. included previous Clash bassist Paul Simonon, guitarist Gary Myrick (ex-Figures), and business lead vocalist Nigel Dixon from Whirlwind. With Simonon aboard, there is built-in interest because of their debut release, released through IRS Information in springtime 1991. Blending root base rock and roll and punk, it received generally solid testimonials and notched a radio strike with “Reach the Rock and roll,” as well as the music group toured extensively marketing it. Simonon still left the music group soon after to pursue a profession in artwork and Dixon passed on from tumor. Myrick rebuilt the music group with bass participant Tom Felicetta and drummer Jamie Chez, launching Tx Glitter & Tombstone Stories in 1996. It might be the only additional release beneath the Havana 3 A.M. moniker, as Myrick would go back to a single profession with 2001’s Waltz from the Scarecrow Ruler, which discovered him dealing with noted maker Tchad Blake.
