Husk O’Hare

b. c.1890, Chicago, Illinois, USA, d. 19 Apr 1970, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Created in Chicago, Illinois within the middle-20s, Husk O’Hare’s Orchestra included sidemen Jimmy McPartland, Bud Freeman, Jimmy Lannigan, Frank Teschemacher, Floyd O’Brien, Dave North, Arnold Sweatman, Harry O’Connor, Franklyn Marsh and, at once, Bix Beiderbecke. Unlike additional dance rings of the time, O’Hare rarely performed engagements at resorts or ballrooms, preferring rather to exist like a studio room band, documenting for Gennett and Decca Information, and performing thoroughly on radio. His 1st band was a little combo entitled the Blue Friars. He renamed them O’Hare’s Crimson Dragons after that Husk O’Hare’s Wolverines. Periodic dates were performed in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Atlantic Town, where O’Hare’s radio account ensured strong package workplace trade. The orchestra continued to be a staple of radio schedules through the entire past due 20s and 30s, before their innovator retired in the first 40s to perform a developing business in Chicago.
