7 Year Bitch

Motivated by Seattle punk group the Gits and their fiery vocalist Mia Zapata, 7 Year Bitch is among the most aggressive punk rings over the American indie scene. Vocalist Selene Vigil, guitarist Stefanie Sargent and drummer Valerie Agnew had been playing within the Seattle group Barbie’s Wish Car when their bassist still left for European countries. They recruited Elizabeth Davis and performed their first displays using the Gits. Following a self-titled debut one in 1990, 7 Calendar year Bitch agreed upon with C/Z Information. The first record Sick ‘Em made an appearance in 1992, but was overshadowed by Sargent’s loss of life just before it had been released; Roisin Dunne became the guitarist’s substitute the following calendar year. In July 1993, Mia Zapata was brutally wiped out in Seattle, and 7 Calendar year Bitch documented ¡Viva Zapata! being a tribute. The group after that agreed upon with Atlantic and in 1996 released Gato Negro, their major-label debut.
