3rd Strike

Jim Korthe, business lead singer for rap-rockers 3rd Hit, grew up within a poor community in Southern California. At a age he became a member of a gang in order to avoid his harmful home lifestyle, but after we were young with assault and medication peddling, he still left the gang to spotlight music along with his friend, guitarist Todd Deguchi. Both come up with a makeshift lineup for 3rd Hit, but between many unsuccessful travels and Korthe’s personal complications the music group disbanded through the ’90s. Both musicians continued to create together, and finally re-formed the music group with drummer PJ McMullan and bassist Gabe Hammersmith. They started documenting when Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge noticed their demonstration and linked them along with his administration company. By the finish of 2001 that they had documented their debut, Shed Angel, that was released the next May. They backed the recording at both Ozzfest and Warped trips that summer.
