The people who form the Seattle-based R&B quartet 2nd Character came together through producer Oman Quijano, who found three from the vocalists throughout a regional 1993 Celebrity Search talent audition, where each was performing solo or with another group. Quijano approached Jason Turner, Darnel Alexander, and Dave Booker following the auditions and the foundation of the group was shaped. Leland “L.A.” Allen, a previous participant for the NORTH PARK Chargers and part-time vocalist, was induced board to complete from the quartet. In 1995, 2nd Character released its debut disk, What Comes Organic, produced and mainly compiled by Oman and Don Quijano.
