Named for his or her favorite specific drum move in the Melvins’ song “A BRIEF HISTORY of Bad Males,” 2:54 — made up of sisters Hannah and Colette Thurlow — make sparse, lo-fi pop affected by stoner rock and roll. Originally the sisters had been much less doomy and gloomy, playing inside a punk music group known as the Vulgarians; then they downshifted gears and began tinkering with atmospherics as 2:54. They produced a few tracks within their London house, so when their GarageBand demonstration started obtaining hyped by trendy press moguls Nylon, Fader, and Guardian UK, 2:54 announced programs release a their 1st EP in past due 2011. Their self-titled full-length debut found its way to 2012 on Extra fat Possum Information. Their debut was well-recieved and in 2014 they authorized with English label Bella Union release a their follow-up The Additional I which found its way to November of this year.
