This one-off project was conceived in 2001 by violinist Tag Emerson (b. 15 August 1958, Ruislip, Middlesex, Britain) to tag the 350th wedding anniversary of John Playford’s The British Dancing Get good at, a work composed of music and guidelines for English nation dances. Emerson acquired previously explored Playford’s reserve as an associate from the fondly viewed Pyewackett, and he was became a member of within this brand-new task by two acclaimed folk music artists, key accordionist Andy Reducing (b. 18 March 1969, Harrow, Middlesex, Britain) and dual bass participant Tim Harries (b. Britain). Released by the stunning Jo label in summertime 2001, Ensemble A Bell was a vibrant and inventive documenting that offered to reintroduce Playford’s function towards the twenty-first century.
