1476 certainly are a Salem, Massachusetts-based dark, atmospheric artwork rock and roll duo. Their music structurally combines components of folk and dark steel, moody indie rock and roll, neo-folk, neoclassical, and post-punk. Made up of vocalist/songwriter and guitarist Robb Kavjian and drummer Neil DeRosa — both through the Worcester, Massachusetts suburbs — they started working jointly in past due 2007, writing tracks that explored designs of Traditional western esoterica, pre-Christian mythology/mysticism, chaos, magic, character, and philosophical and experiential designs. They determined through the outset never to confine themselves to a particular genre. When pressed by interviewers to define their design, they responded with the word, “Hermetic Deth Rock and roll.” Their debut record, A Wolf’s Age group, was self-released in ’09 2009 accompanied by an acoustic EP entitled Smoke cigarettes in the Sky a season afterwards.
