13 & God

Anticon label people Themselves (Adam “Doseone” Drucker, Jerry “Jel” Logan, Dax Pierson) and Germany’s the Notwist (Markus Acher, Micha Acher, Martin Gretschmann, Martin Messerschmid) haven’t been strangers to genre-exploring cooperation (Doseone’s participation in Subtle and cLOUDDEAD, the Acher brothers in Town of Savoonga, and Gretschmann’s are System), and the thought of developing a record collectively had been making for quite a while in the thoughts of Themselves, who was simply hearing the Notwist’s Neon Golden throughout their Western european tour. Notwist vocalist/guitarist Markus Acher is at the audience in a Themselves display in Munich, along with a joint tour was informally organized. 13 & God had been spawned over the last of several bus breakdowns in this tour, and in Sept 2004, after a few months of sending demos backwards and forwards, the two groupings united in Munich and spent 17 times there, documenting 13 & God’s self-titled debut in Micha Acher’s Transistor Studios.
